McArthur Skincare Natural Products

Hey guys,

Welcome back to my blog, it has been a while and I apologise, the past couple of months have not only flown by,  but have been extremely busy and unfortunately I let my blogging slip.

Today I am going to review an Australia company called McArthur skincare, who kindly sent me a selection of their products for review purposes. This post is sponsored however all opinions are my own and based on my personal experience using it.

McArthur skincare is a 100% Australian owned and operated company, founded in 2010, within the health care and cosmetic industries. They have a range of 16 products, you can purchase their products online, in pharmacies and health food stores. Their products are available in the UK, USA and China.

The McArthur skin, body and hair care products all contain their unique McArthur PawPaw extract. it is the only cream with 60% Pawpaw extract concentration. All of the products state the amount of pawpaw extract in them.

Pawpaw has extremely high levels of vitamins A, C and E, antioxidants and enzymes.

McArthur refuse to use petrochemicals (petroleum) Sulphates, which can be drying to the skin and Parabens and does not test on animals, this is always a huge plus for me.

Ok, now that I’ve given you all a little background information about McArthur the company, I am going to tell you all about the products I used and my thoughts on them.

I have been using four products for 5 weeks now everyday morning and night and feel that I can give you all an honest review on how my thirsty skin behaved and responded.

FOAMING FACIAL CLEANSER:

The foaming cleanser comes in a pump bottle which is really handy, has 125ml of product and 15% Pawpaw extract. It is designed for all skin types, oily to sensitive, it claims to deeply clean, remove makeup and maintain the skins moisture balance, leaving the skin refreshed and radiant.

I used this cleanser at night, as i do not cleanse in the morning, I did use it a couple of times in the morning when I was a slacko and only used face wipes to remove my makeup the night before…You know those nights girls…all you want to do is jump in bed and makeup removal needs to be QUICK! I use a cleansing oil or micellar  water with a cotton pad to remove my makeup, it avoids double cleansing, which  dries my skin out,  so I don’t do it.

The foam is light and has a subtle scent, nothing overpowering, but sweet and very mild. I only needed one pump and it covered my whole face and neck with enough foam to cleanse efficiently. I usually rinse off face wash with my little sponges, however the times I cleansed in the shower or just rinsed with water using my hands it really stung my eyes,  especially in the shower, I couldn’t open my eyes, they stung for the whole time I was showering and  my eye did feel irritated afterwards, as you can imagine that wasn’t fun at all. When I rinsed off with my sponges this did not happen, I may have sensitive eyes, but I havent really had that experience with my other cleansers before, only soap, I wasn’t keen on that reaction, however it isn’t  a huge issue for me as I normally don’t cleanse in the shower. Sting eye aside, this cleanser left my skin feeling very clean, and refreshed and it did not feel tight, I loved that about the cleanser, as I have dry, normal skin and cleansers can leave my face feeling like I have been vacum sealed.

HYDRATING FACIAL CREAM

A lovely day and night cream, it has 25% Pawpaw extract in a 50ml pump bottle. The hydrating facial cream is also for all skin types. I really loved this cream, I have been using it day and night for 5 weeks and it is a beautiful consistency, more on the thick side , you don’t need alot as it melts into your skin easily and covers your face and neck with one pump.

The claim is that with twice daily use it improves skin hydration and minimises signs of ageing, and I must say that using this moisturiser in the morning definatly plumped my skin, when I didn’t use a primer my foundation still sat well on my face. Again this is my experience, my skin type loved this formula, I applied a little more at night, that wasn’t recommended but that’s what I do usually and I did not break out, it did not clog my pores and my skin looks really nice upon waking…well as nice as you can look when you wake up, what I’m saying is that my face looked healthy, I really love this cream, after 5 weeks of twice daily use I still have quite a bit of product still remaining.

COMPLETE SKIN CARE BODYWASH

A Luxurious exfoliating cleanser, suitable for all skin types, is gentle and restores the skin to its natural best. The bodywash comes in a 350ml pump bottle. It also has a mild scent that is pleasant smelling.

I need to be careful with body washes because I am susceptible to eczema, the winter months really leave my skin very dry.  Body washes that lather too much or have perfume and chemicals are not my friends. This was going to be the product that I  wanted to see how my skin responded to. The soap is clear it doesn’t lather very much at  all, I used a few pumps, more than required, but that’s me, I always do that with any shower product, I use too much, having said that, the bottle still is quite full, I would say i have more than half to go, so despite my zealous pumping of soap, it lasts!!! My skin has not dried out, my body is still quite soft and I haven’t developed any dry spots , harsh soaps leave my shins looking scaly. The body wash has maintained my skin’s suppleness just as well as the other brands on the  market for sensitive skin, this is a great soap for the family, I would buy this for my children to use as it’s gentle. The added pawpaw extract has contributed to the softer skin especailly on my thighs where i tend to get a few lumps in the colder months.

My only complaint with this product is that despite having a convenient pump, it’s not long enough, it doesn’t reach over the bottle girth so you couldn’t pump the soap onto your body sponge or loofah, I had to hold the bottle, to ensure the soap made it to the sponge, if you’re not using a sponge or loofah and just your hand then this would not be an issue. This alone is not enough to put me off using it, it a packaging issue, but it’s something the company may want to change to make it easier for the consumer to use, apart from that, the bodywash has really impressed me it stands up to its more popular competitors…and I know because I used them before trialling this.

COMPLETE SKINCARE CREAM

This little gem has a whopping 60% Pawpaw extract in it and  boy can you tell!

Its a 60ml tube with the highest concentration extract in a natural cream. Pawpaw is used to treat a range of skin issues, this amzing cream soothes, reduces redness and dryness and rejuvinates the appearnace of the skin.

I used this cream after showering every day, its medium consistency and natural in colour, not white or clear, it absorbed easily into the skin and a small amount covered a good area of skin, like the facial moisturiser it absorbed effortlessly, I’ve just about finished this cream, of all the products used,  this one emptied after my 5 week stint, perhaps I used too much I’m not sure, this cream does come in a 250ml tube which would be better value. I will definitely be looking into some of Mc Arthurs products for exzema, dermatitis and rashes, as these are ailments we suffer in my household.

I’m very thankful to McArthur skincare for gifting me their  lovely products, I enjoyed using them and would happily recommend them.

So there you have it guys, hope you enjoyed the read, or piqued your interest, if you love natural, cruelty free, healing and soothing skin care that nourishes all skin types, look into McArthur Skincare.

Much Love, Luisa xo

  5. Great review Luisa!! I haven’t heard of this brand before. I wonder how they go on oily skin. I might need to have a look at our local chemist and check them out.
I wonder why the face wash stung your eyes. Seems weird but luckily it didn’t bother your skin. Thanks for a great Sunday morning read with my coffee 😘

    1. Thankyou for taking the time Hun, yeah I’m not sure why it stung so bad, only when I washed in the shower but god it hurt. It says for all skin types but I’m normal to dry and my skin loved it, the body cream and wash and cleanser would be great for you but the moisturiser would be the ?? With oily skin. I’m still using them daily bc they have been great in this cold drying weather … Enjoy your Sunday Hun, hope it’s relaxing 😍
